About Dr. Barlis

Cara Barlis, MD, is a primary care physician who is board certified in family medicine. She currently sees patients at Princeton Sports and Family Medicine, P.C., in Lawrenceville, New Jersey. 

She was raised in Toronto, Canada, and graduated from Queen’s University Medical School. She completed her family practice residency at the University of Toronto.  

Dr. Barlis evaluates and treats patients with a wide variety of acute and chronic medical conditions. Her patients range in age from adolescence to the elderly, and she enjoys seeing multiple generations of family members. She also offers women’s health care, including contraception, routine gynecology, menopausal concerns, and osteoporosis management.   

Dr. Barlis also works as a collaborative physician at The College of New Jersey Student Health Services. She is responsible for the medical care of students who present to health services with medical illness, sports injuries, women’s and men’s health concerns, and preventive needs.  She also serves as a consulting physician to The Hun School of Princeton, and in the past, has provided medical services at Hamilton Township Health Department sexually transmitted disease clinics. 

For a number of years, Dr. Barlis has been privileged to be part of a medical mission team, providing care to underserved populations in Guatemala.  

Dr. Barlis recognizes that mental, emotional, and physical wellbeing are interrelated.  She truly believes in a patient-centered approach to family medicine and strives to partner with her patients with the goal of preventing disease and achieving lifelong wellness.
